Classic Massage

Classic Massage (commonly known as ‘Swedish Massage’) is our definition of total relaxation! It involves using slow, steady motions of the hands and arms to apply light to medium pressure on the body. These motions are a combination of what we call ‘effleurage’ -light techniques used to warm up and relax the body, and ‘petrissage’ - slightly deeper techniques used to relieve tension and improve suppleness of muscles and fascia beneath the skin. This treatment relaxes both body and mind, promotes healthy blood circulation, improves sleep and helps boost your immune system. If you’re in need of some ‘me-time’ that allows you to destress and unwind, this one is for you! Don’t worry, we’ll wake you up after!

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage involves the same effleurage and petrissage techniques as Classic Massage, but as the name suggests, uses deeper pressure to help alleviate areas of tension and restriction in the body. Aside from aiding in pain relief, this treatment improves muscle flexibility and subsequently, range of motion in the joints attached to the affected muscles. If your muscles feel tight and achey, maybe somewhat painful, deep tissue massage is your best friend! What are you waiting for?

Sports Massage

Sports massage consists of mostly deep tissue massage techniques, alongside passive stretching of the affected muscles to both reduce pain and increase suppleness of the muscle being stretched, as well as the attached joint. This is our go-to treatment for pain management and postural alignment. Often, we see clients for sports massage on a reoccurring basis to achieve optimal results. However, improvement can be made in one booking. As we specialise in injury treatment, this is also included in this service (optional) at no extra cost. Injury treatment includes techniques such as Trigger Point Therapy, Soft Tissue Release, MET Therapy, PRT (commonly known as PNF), Connective Tissue Therapy and Transverse Frictions. If you’ve injured yourself at the gym, pulled a muscle bending down, or bad posture is causing you pain, this is the treatment for you! You may have seen sports massages being performed on athletes before a sporting event - this type of sports massage differs from the ‘maintenance massage’ described above, as it focuses on warming up the body and elevating adrenaline levels. This is known as a ‘pre-event’ sports massage. In our clinic, we offer this to clients who want an invigorating massage to boost adrenaline and wake-up the body! It is usually sought after by clients before they partake in physical activity such as running, cycling, or sporting events. This ‘pre-event’ style of sports massage also includes ‘tapotement’ techniques (think vigorous cupping and chopping motions of the hands on to the body). If you require this style of sports massage, please only select the 30 minute service. The regular maintenance sports massage and injury treatment can be of any duration. It is important to note that sports massage is not a relaxing massage, and can be uncomfortable (not painful - your therapist will stop/adjust treatment if you are in too much pain). However, your body will thank you in the long-run!

Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a powerful, cleansing treatment that almost anyone can benefit from! As it facilitates the removal of toxins, metabolical waste, excess water, bacteria and foreign substances through the body’s lymph vessels, it is particularly useful for those suffering with oedema and lymphoedema, sinus congestions, digestive disorders, stress and headaches. It can help strengthen the immune system, improve energy, decrease swelling, reduce harmful bacteria or an overgrowth of bacteria in the body, decrease pain and increase cellular oxygenation. It also relaxes the nervous system. In the west, most of us have sluggish lymphatic systems due to the intake of highly processed foods. Lack of water intake also contributes to this. Some signs that your body is in need of lymphatic drainage include puffy armpits (a healthy armpit should have a dip/”pit”), puffy face, dry and itchy skin, lethargy, swelling (e.g. in the hands/feet or legs), constipation, sinusitis, infections and swollen lymph nodes. With light as a feather application, this treatment is our most unique service in which many clients end up falling asleep due to the gentle, rhythmic motions applied ever so lightly to the skin. Give your system the boost and detox it needs and book today!

Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy Massage is tailored especially for mothers-to-be! Unlike most pregnancy massage services, we combine Classic/Swedish Massage techniques with light passive stretching to relieve not just tension in your muscles, but pressure off of your joints too! The only other service we use this type of stretching in is Sports Massage, but we understand the strain and stress the bodies of pregnant women go through, so we wanted to include this little treat for you. We also make use of soft pillows, to ensure maximum comfort and support! Due to safety precautions, this treatment is performed with the client laying on their side and their upper body propped up slightly, at a diagonal position. A pillow is placed between the legs to prevent the knees knocking together and a pillow under the head and neck to rest on. Once the first side of the body is massaged, we will help you turn to face the other side and finish the treatment on the other side. We can focus on specific areas of your choice, or perform a full body massage (please book at least 60 minutes if you would like a full-body treatment). Please note that we cannot provide this service to anyone still in their first trimester (up to 12 weeks) and can only accept clients who have written consent (letter or text/app message) from their GP and/or midwife. Treat yourself or an expecting loved one to this well-deserved, tranquil experience and hit the book button below!
